CECIL THOKOANE
A VISIONARY LEADER IN ICT
Cecil Thokoane, a distinguished figure in the South African ICT industry, has built a remarkable career over the past few decades. Born in Soweto, Cecil matriculated at St. David’s Marist College and pursued a B.Sc. degree at the University of the Western Cape. His journey in the IT sector began as a trainee MVS Systems programmer at Engen Petroleum, where he honed his technical skills.
Cecil’s career trajectory saw him take on significant roles at prominent organizations such as the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, IBM South Africa, and Dimension Data. His
expertise in storage management, IT strategy, and business development allowed him to excel in various executive positions, including Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Alliances Executive for Dimension Data Middle East and Africa
Fifteen years ago, Cecil founded Galeboe Professional Services with a vision to address a critical gap in the system integration space. His deep understanding of the South African ICT landscape and commitment to innovation drove him to create a company that not only delivers top-tier cybersecurity
and cloud solutions but also champions diversity and inclusion within the industry.
Under Cecil’s leadership, Galeboe has become a trusted name, known for its dedication to quality and client satisfaction.
